Our Leaders

Rev. Dwayne McCarty was elected Pastor of Stittsville UPC effective January 1, 2011 upon the retirement of Rev. A. Dummitt. Pastor McCarty served as Associate Pastor at SUPC for two and a half years prior to being elected Pastor.

Pastor McCarty graduated from Northeast Christian College in Fredericton, NB (formerly UPBI) in 1986 and became a licensed minister with the UPCI that same year. Other than 10 months of ministry in Pakistan in 1986/87, Pastor McCarty has spent his entire ministry with the UPCI Ontario District in Ottawa, Barrie, Toronto and now Stittsville. Pastor McCarty’s District efforts have included District Secretary, Youth Ministry, Director for Huyck’s Bay Campground and Convention Centre, Men’s Ministry and Leadership Training Centre.

Stittsville UPC is an expanding, multicultural assembly where Pastor McCarty’s goal and focus is to see “Everybody Growing” which means Bible teaching, Discipleship, Kids Ministry, Leadership Training and growing opportunities for everyone.

Pastor McCarty’s wife, Leanna (married in 1987), also graduated from Northeast Christian College and works with him in every sector of the ministry. Leanna is a gifted musician, vocalist, song writer and worship leader, taking church attendees into the presence of God on a regular basis during worship time at SUPC.

The McCarty’s have two daughters, Jessica and Erica. Jessica married Airell Ferreras in 2016 and both are very involved in SUPC in youth, music and recently launching Tagalog Ministries. Erica is also very involved in SUPC as a vocalist, worship leader and working on the media team.
