At Everybody Growing Church, we love spending time together, and we love to eat! The spirit of giving and community was present on March 24th as we hosted our annual dessert auction fundraiser. This year, we called it “Taste and See: Testimonies and Dessert Auction.” This event wasn’t just about winning your favourite dessert; it was about celebrating the wonderful things God is doing in our lives and supporting a worthy cause.
Testimonies of Faith and Inspiration
One of the most powerful aspects of the Taste and See fundraiser was the sharing of testimonies. Members of the congregation stepped forward to share their personal stories of how God has been working in their lives. These testimonies served as reminders of God’s faithfulness in hard times and how He turns everything around for our good if we trust in Him.
Going Once, Going Twice… Sold!
Following the inspiring testimonies, the event transitioned into a live auction of desserts and savory meals, cherished favorites within the church community. From decadent cakes and pies to savory dishes from around the world, each item on the auction block was a labor of love, generously donated by members of the congregation. The bidding war was lively, filled with laughter and friendly competition, as attendees eagerly vied for their favorite treats.
Supporting Save Our Children
Behind the desserts and savory dishes lay a deeper purpose: supporting Save Our Children, a vital fundraiser for children’s ministries. Established in 1973, the Save Our Children Campaign has been a beacon of hope for children’s ministries on both district and national levels. Half of the funds raised stay within the district, supporting local initiatives, while the other half goes to headquarters for national endeavors.
A Sweet Success
Thanks to the generosity and support of the Everybody Growing Church community, the Taste and See fundraiser was a resounding success. Together, we raised over $7500 for the Save Our Children campaign, a testament to our collective commitment to making a difference in the lives of children.
